Creating an effective is certainly an art; easy to read, appealing, print clarity and sharable. While creating and designing a presentation, we focus on its theme, professional look and appeal but overlook to consider size of presentation. Size of a business presentation must be considerable when it has to be share on a network or via emails. There are few points that can be considered to reduce size of a presentation:
· Images should not be larger than 1024*768 pixels
· To reduce size of images:
o For Powerpoint 2003:
§ Right click on an image
§ Click Format Picture
§ Click Compress
§ Under Apply to; click either Selected Picture or All Pictures according to requirement
o For Powerpoint 2007:
§ Double click an image
§ Click Compress image
§ Select Apply to for the clicked image
§ Click Options
· Creating a presentation in Powerpoint 2007 and saving the presentation into97-2003 format increases the file size. Powerpoint 2007 converts features into images that is not supported in 97-2003 format
Use minimum embed files
· Working with screenshots, photos and scanned images, set the pixels correctly before inserting it into the presentations
· Avoiding Fast Saves (Powerpoint 2003) and Auto Recovery ( Powerpoint 2007) might help to create a heavy file
· Using Insert option for images and pictures instead of drag-drop or copy-paste helps to avoid a heavy presentation file
